T.I. jump sets Hot 100 record

'Whatever You Want' soars from No. 71

NEW YORK -- T.I. establishes the mark for biggest jump to the top of the Billboard Hot one C, as "Whatever You Want" soars from No. 71 to the top spot in its third hebdomad on the list. The new chart will be published Thursday on Billboard.biz.

A No. 1 opening on Hot Digital Songs with sales of 205,000 downloads is the impetus for the record-setting Hot 100 move, which surpasses the 64-1 hike interpreted by Maroon5's "Makes Me Wonder" in the May 12, 2007, issue.

"Want" is the rapper's first No. 1 as a lead artist (he was featured on Justin Timberlake's 2006 chart-topper, "My Love") and his opening-week digital amount is the best by a rap track since Nielsen SoundScan began compiling download information in 2003.

The song is also faring well at radio, jump 33-20 on Hot hundred Airplay and 13-8 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

T.I.'s unexampled Grand Hustle/Atlantic album, "Paper Trail," is due Sept. 30. The rapper, world Health Organization pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges in alignment with an October halt in Atlanta, will eventually serve a year in jail following the culmination of 1,000 hours of community service.

Madonna sets out on the tour of her life

Lynne, wearing her c. H. Best silky rodeo rider shirt and pink, flash angel wings, is incensed. 'It's screw up, that's what it is,' she said. 'One and a half hours late and she still hasn't bothered to come on phase? It's awless. I've compulsive down deuce hours from Birmingham. This just isn't right.'

In the semi-filled Cardiff Millennium Stadium, Lynne is not unique in her frustration. At 8pm last night, after an hour's wait, the crowd well-tried to encourage Madonna on to the stage with cheers and whoops. By 9pm, after two hours' wait, the boos began; starting cautiously in the stands simply quickly gaining deafening momentum throughout the stadium.

'I didn't pay 75 for the joy of sitting on a dusty, concrete floor, eating hot dogs,' said Tom Allan, one of the most enthusiastic of the booing brigade. 'I do my problem properly, why can't she?'

Finally, at 9.10pm the lights went down and the crowd leapt to its feet, instantly forgiving the Queen of Pop as a giant screen appeared and the Material Girl herself burst onto the stage, throwing her heart and soul into confounding and exceeding fans' expectations even again.

The long-awaited Sweet and Sticky turn had begun.

'This is more like it!' Lynne screamed. 'This is what I came for. I never doubted her really. Madonna rocks. There's no one wish her. No one. She's an ikon. Her c. H. Best is til now to come.'

On a leg bookended by two enormous Ms filled with 1m-worth of Swarovski crystals, the world's to the highest degree successful female recording creative person of all time leapt, trampolined and pole-danced with an energy that pulled the hearing into her pocket.

A past master at seducing and enthralling her fans, she introduced a whole new definition of 'audience participation' by skipping with a glittering rope in clock time to their ecstatic rendition of 'Into the Groove'.

With the help of Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent and Roberto Cavalli, not to mention 12 trampolines and 100 pairs of fishing net stockings, Madonna launched her eighth world concert go at the 74,600-seat Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Having turned 50 last weekend, Madonna remains defiant amid rumours about the state of her marriage to film director Guy Ritchie, gossip fanned by a warts-and-all life by her younger brother, Christopher Ciccone, in which he claims that the couple solely stay together with the help of a marriage-counselling rabbi.

Swatting such carping away with the aplomb of the ultimate showgirl, she has crafted a exhibit of exuberance that conceals a tightly controlled tale. In a micro-managed, four-part stage set, the vocalist takes fans on a whistlestop tour of duty of the stages of her career.

Those roots go back to when the aspiring isaac Merrit Singer reportedly showed up in New York City with just $35 in her pocket. Yet three decades on she is tranquil writhing, vibration and shimmying in the limelight.

The Material Girl opens the two-hour spectacle attired in the first of her ashcan School outfits, 'a mashed-up homage to gangsta pimp and Art Deco'. The first set is a nod to her early age as a new-wave discotheque nymphette world Health Organization made her name as a performing artist more well-thought-of in her first British performance at Manchester's Haienda nightclub for her bravura than her ability to hold a note.

Pausing to transform herself from a Givenchy-clad, dominatrix-style gangsta ponce into a Gothic goddess, Madonna references her early days as part of the Eighties New York dance scene with songs including 'Into the Groove' and 'Borderline'.

A brief 'Romanian folk interlude' features a paean to Romany love affair, featuring trey gypsy musicians playing tracks including 'Devil Wouldn't Recognize You', 'Spanish Lesson', 'Miles Away' and 'La Isla Bonita' on acoustic guitars. Madge presides over this section in a black Gothic-style Givenchy cloak, bare-assed off to reveal a flowery top, baggy dame and knee-high boots.

The evening has baseball club of the 12 songs on her 11th studio album, Hard Candy, which went true to the top of the charts in 31 countries. It culminates in a grand finale focalization on what could be described as Madge's 'post-imperial' phase: a futuristic, Japanese-influenced rave put in which she sports diamond-studded trousers, a colorful throw top and black vest, vocalizing hits including '4 Minutes', 'Like a Prayer', 'Ray of Light', 'Hung Up' and 'Give It To Me'.

Arlene Phillips, a Strictly Come Dancing judge and friend of Madonna, world Health Organization helped to design the look of last night's extravaganza, aforementioned the isaac Bashevis Singer had been determined to produce a show as spectacularly horny as possible.

Having reached her half-century, the singer power now travel with her own chiropractor, personal flight simulator and masseuse, but Phillips had been quoted as saying: 'Getting older has had little effect on her sensation of fashion adventure. She may make turned 50, but has no plans to note it mastered. This is going to blow everyone away.'

From Cardiff, the show will intersect Europe and the Americas, finishing in So Paulo on 18 December.

Aussie star to get apology after sex scandal

Entertainer Tania Zaetta will receive a personal apology from Australia's defence force chief over unsubstantiated claims she had sex with Australian soldiers in Afghanistan.

Air Chief Marshal Houston said there was no evidence of any such conduct by Zaetta during a concert tour in April.

A defence briefing document, leaked to the media, had referred to second-hand claims that Zaetta had sex with special forces soldiers at the Australian base in Tarin Kowt in Afghanistan.

"A quick assessment has been completed," Air Chief Marshal Houston told a Senate estimates hearing today.

"There was no substance to the allegations, and I will conclude the matter with a letter to the person in question.

"I will obviously apologise and express my deep regret about any hurt she has suffered."

Air Chief Marshal Houston said he was deeply concerned about the whole matter.

"It was not well handled by us. I was absolutely appalled that the names were put out in the 'hot issues brief' and I regret the whole thing," he said.

Air Chief Marshal Houston said he attended the annual dinner with defence entertainers last week.

"I spoke to very many of them. Essentially they are disappointed with what happened but they are still very well disposed to do what they do and do very well which is to go out there and give of their time
to entertain the troops," he said.

Defence department secretary Nick Warner said the matter was handled poorly in "various aspects".

"It would have been a courtesy, it would have been the right thing to contact the individual earlier on," Mr Warner said.

The story surfaced on May 22 when News Limited newspapers published details of the leaked defence briefing paper.

The 37-year-old entertainer, radio host and TV personality strenuously denied the claims made.

That allegation was attributed to fellow entertainer Angry Anderson and contained in the hot issues brief naming Zaetta and circulated to some 90 defence recipients, including the office of Defence Minister
Joel Fitzgibbon.

The brief was withdrawn a short time later.

A defence internal investigation was now under way to determine how that was leaked to News Limited.

As well, defence has sought advice from the Privacy Commissioner and reviewed who should receive hot issues briefs, reducing the list.

Lady Antebellum works self-titled debut

Lady Antebellum works self-titled debut

As singer Charles Kelley tells it, fate played a hand in the formation of the fledgling country act Lady Antebellum [ tickets ]. Kelley--the brother of singer-songwriter Josh Kelley--and high school friend/singer/guitarist Dave Haywood grew up together in Augusta, GA, and started playing music in college. "I moved to Nashville and talked him into quitting his job as an accountant and moving to Nashville," Kelley said with a laugh. "Shortly after that, we met Hillary and we started writing songs together and the group kind of developed out of a friendship."The meeting of singer Hillary Scott, daughter of '90s country star Linda Davis, was the impetus for Lady Antebellum, whose song "Love Don't Live Here" is currently in the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart."We were out at a little night spot in Nashville and she walked up and said, 'I know you from MySpace. I know your music,'" Kelley said. "She found out about me through my brother Josh. She was on his page. She checked me out. She said, 'I love what you're doing.'"The two discussed writing songs and exchanged numbers. Three months later, Lady Antebellum was formed. "We just had immediate chemistry between the three of us as a group," Kelley said. "It was just kind of an obvious thing, like we needed to do this together. It was a cool time. Definitely fate stepped in." The band's self-titled debut was released Tuesday (4/15), a day Lady Antebellum spent doing interviews. "They've been so great, really patient. But they've been waiting for this, so I'm excited to be able to get it in their hands. I just can't wait to see what people think. All but one song are songs that we wrote. So it's a real personal project for us. We're hopin' everybody loves it. We'll see."
